The Southern Witch Series

(Humorous fantasy adventure with mystery & romance elements)

This series follows the adventures and misadventures of Tammy Jo Trask who comes from a long line of witches with Earth magic. The family magic seems to have skipped over her, and she is content to spend her time making pastries. In the first installment, her magic suddenly becomes active with disastrous results. An ocelot familiar named Mercutio becomes her companion as she enters the World of Magic and tries to discover what's wrong with her powers.

Would-Be Witch

(Southern Witch Series #1)

In the small town of Duvall, Texas, the only thing that causes more trouble than gossip is magic.

The family magic seems to have skipped Tammy Jo Trask. All she gets in the way of the supernatural are a few untimely visits from the long dead, smart-mouthed family ghost, Edie. But when her locket, an heirloom that happens to hold Edie’s soul, is stolen in the midst of a town-wide crime spree, it’s time for Tammy to find her inner witch.

After a few bad experiences with her magic, Tammy turns to the only one who can help: the very rich and highly magical Bryn Lyons. He might have all the answers, but the locket isn’t the only thing passed down in Tammy’s family. She also inherited a warning…to stay away from anyone named Lyons.

Barely Bewitched

(Southern Witch Series #2)

Messing with magic can spell disaster!

Welcome to Duvall, Texas, where Tammy Jo Trask has just unleashed an accidental Armageddon.

Tammy Jo’s misfiring magic has attracted the unwanted attention of WAM, the World Association of Magic. Now, a wand-wielding wizard and a menacing fire warlock have come to Duvall to train her for a dangerous mandatory challenge. But is there more to their arrival than they claim?

When a curse leads to a toxic spill of pixie dust, the town comes unglued and the doors between the human and faery worlds begin to open. To rescue the town and to face the impossible magical test, Tammy needs the help of incredibly handsome Bryn Lyons, but WAM has declared him totally off-limits. To avoid deadly consequences, Tammy probably ought to follow the rules this time…

On the other hand, rebellion is an old Texas tradition.

Halfway Hexed

(Southern Witch Series #3)

Duvall, Texas.
A small town that’s about to be in some big trouble.

Pastry-chef-turned-unexpected-action/adventure heroine Tammy Jo Trask is finally ready to embrace her mixed-up and often malfunctioning magic. Too bad not everyone wants her to become all the witch she can be.

First, there are the local residents who form a scripture-spouting posse and kidnap Tammy to “defend” Duvall against witchcraft. Next, someone saddles her with a secret package chock full of dangerous visions, just as the president of WAM—the World Association of Magic—arrives with his entourage to investigate her. And who worse to examine Tammy’s entanglement with off-limits and drop-dead gorgeous wizard Bryn Lyons than his ex-girlfriend? Not to mention that the clash between the locals and the magical visitors leads to a series of unnatural disasters that may doom them all.

Will Tammy Jo’s magical synergy with Bryn be enough to help her save the town or will her enemies succeed in putting Tammy out of commission for good? One thing’s certain: this would-be witch is ready to rumble, Texas style…

Magical Misfire

(A Southern Witch novella

Southern Witch Series #3.5)

It was the best of times, it was the cursed of times.

Tammy Jo Trask is headed to Galveston, Texas for the Dickens on the Strand festival, but there’s no idyllic vacation in her future—not with two magically shrunken ladies trapped in her luggage. Jenna and Lucy were trying to kidnap Tammy Jo when she took them down a notch. The only trouble is she can’t reverse the spell and neither can her gorgeous wizard beau Bryn.

Now Tammy’s hoping to get help from a Galveston ghost named Sally O’Shea. In exchange for her help, Sally sends Tammy Jo and Bryn on a strange and mysterious mission. Bryn is convinced it’s a wild goose chase, but Sally has a few dark secrets up her spectral sleeves, and their fool’s errand quickly turns epic.

Slightly Spellbound

(Southern Witch Series #4)

With two kinds of magick at odds inside her and two gorgeous men vying for her attention, Tammy Jo Trask is used to being pulled in opposite directions. But in the latest Southern Witch novel she’ll have to make some serious decisions—like how she intends to stay alive.

Tammy Jo’s romance with the wizard Bryn Lyons is on hold while her ex-husband is in town trying to remind her of the good old days. Choosing between them isn’t easy, and it doesn’t help that a skeletal creature is spying on her, a faery knight is hunting her, and she just made friends with Evangeline Rhodes—a rich witch who thinks her own family is trying to kill her.

When Evangeline disappears under suspicious circumstances, Tammy Jo is determined to find out what happened. As she uncovers a secret more dangerous—and personal—than she could have imagined, she also discovers that, in both love and magic, you can’t stay neutral forever.

Casually Cursed

(Southern Witch Series #5)

Tammy Jo rarely sets a toe outside Texas, but when she learns her mother is in trouble, Tammy is determined to save her—even if it means going to hell and back…

Fresh off her engagement to wizard Bryn Lyons, Tammy Jo is surprised to make another new family connection when she meets the twin sister she never knew she had. After being spirited away to the fae kingdom of the Never as an infant, Kismet has finally escaped, and arrived in Duvall, Texas, with some terrible news: she’s on the run and their mother, Marlee, is a prisoner of the Seelie fae.

Crossing the ocean to battle the fae isn’t Tammy Jo’s idea of a romantic getaway, but Bryn refuses to let her go alone—as do her aunt Edie and her ex-husband Zach. Unfortunately, the witches’ association has its own plans for Tammy Jo and the leverage to send her on a different dangerous mission. As if she didn’t have enough to do!

Torn between the world’s most powerful witches and the ancient race of faeries, Tammy Jo finds herself in an impossible position…

Perfectly Pie-Jacked

(Southern Witch Series #5.1)

It's been several years since Tammy Jo's last adventure in Casually Cursed where she visited the Never and escaped. In true faery tale fashion she's been living happily ever after. When she's held up on the side of the road and robbed of her freshly baked pies, it's the first indication that trouble is brewing again.

This 10,000-word short novella shows Southern Witch fans how Tammy Jo's life has changed. And how it's stayed the same.
